Rule 3A(i) of GDS Conduct & Engagement Rules,2011( GDS are not allowed to perform their duty beyond 5 hours) : Kamalesh Chandra Committee Analysis
Most of the Unions/Federations have represented to the GDS Committee to remove the 5 hours cap on the maximum period of working hours for GDS in a day. They demanded GDS should be given maximum of 8 hours of duty like the regular employees of the Department and should be compensated accordingly.
During the direct interactions of GDS with the Committee organized in many Circles , the GDS demanded from the Committee that they should be given 8 hours duty and in return they are ready to do whatever work given to them by the Department.
