Alternative source of income for GDS : Committee observations.

The Committee visited Rae Bareilly Division of Uttar Pradesh and saw the TRCA slip of one Sh.Birendra Kumar ( GDS MP, SARENI ). The copy of TRCA shows that the Shri Kumar is getting net TRCA of Rs.3,977/- per month after deductions.

The same situation exists for almost all newly recruited GDSs. The senior GDS also receive an average wage of around Rs.8,000 /- to Rs.9,000/- only which are not sufficient to manage even the basic needs of living with a small family in rural/urban areas without any alternate source of income, and since the alternate source of income is not available , the GDS are facing financial problems
