Kamalesh Chandra Committee : GDS to Departmental Posts

The Committee collected the information from 18 Circles and found that average percentage of direct recruitment from GDS into Departmental Posts in the years 2013 to 2015 is around 1% of the total working strength of GDS in the Country.(Table 15.1).

▪ GDS to MTS (seniority)
• 2013 : 945 GDS
• 2014 : 637 GDS
• 2015 : 651 GDS

▪GDS to MTS ( exam)
• 2013 : 543 GDS
• 2014 : 301 GDS
• 2015 : 402 GDS

▪ GDS to Postman/MG ( exam )
• 2013 : 1487 GDS
• 2014 : 969 GDS
• 2015 : 1161 GDS

▪ GDS to PA/SA ( exam )
• 2013 :  27 GDS
• 2014 : 52 GDS
• 2015 : 50 GDS

The above figures related to All India.

This is clear visible from above data that only below 50 GDS are promoted to Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant through LDCE in all over India per year.

Thats why we demand to provide seperate quota for GDS in PA examination.
